Lewis was truly amazing with my 2 year old little boy who seems to really dislike the hairdresser! He was so calm with him and took it a step at a time. Thank you. We will be back!

About us

About Tapered

About Tapered

Tapered is more than just a new name above the door ā€” itā€™s the result of years of dedication, growth, and a shared vision. Five years ago, Lewis took over the shop formerly known as Bow St Barbers. With hard work, long hours, and a real passion for the craft, he built it into a respected and trusted space within the community. In 2022, Jay joined the team, bringing fresh energy, skill, and ambition. Together, they worked side by side, sharpening their craft and steadily building something special. By 2026, it was clear that the next step wasnā€™t just growth ā€” it was evolution. Thatā€™s when Tapered was born. Tapered represents a fresh start for Lewis and Jay ā€” a new venture built on experience, loyalty, and a drive to keep pushing forward. While weā€™re proud of everything achieved in the Bow St Barbers years, this rebrand marks a new chapter. A stronger identity. A bigger vision. A brand with purpose. Our goal is simple: deliver top-quality cuts, create a welcoming atmosphere, and build Tapered into something that continues to grow ā€” not just as a barbershop, but as a name people recognise and trust. This isnā€™t just a rebrand.
Itā€™s the future ā€” and weā€™re only just getting started

Lewis Bristow - Co-owner

Lewis Bristow - Co-owner

Lewis is known locally as one of the most versatile barbers, skilled in all modern fades and classic gentsā€™ cuts, and especially patient with kids. His passion for barbering started young ā€” he was cutting family and friendsā€™ hair from the age of 12 ā€” and over the years heā€™s built extensive experience in the trade. Lewis takes pride in giving every client a clean, precise cut while creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere in the chair.

Beyond barbering, Lewis is a proud family man, with his first child arriving in 2024 being a life-changing highlight. When heā€™s not in the shop, he loves surfing, golf, cars, BMX, and playing guitar. Book a session with Lewis and youā€™re guaranteed not just a great haircut, but a full barbering experience from start to finish.

Jay Stroud - Co-owner

Jay Stroud - Co-owner

About Jay. He started his barbering journey back in 2020 at strode college, since graduating college leaving with a level 2 & 3 qualification, he's been loving being a full time barber for the last 4 years. Finally achieving the dream of co-owning a brilliant, well known and friendly barbershop.

Jay is a well-rounded, modern barber whoā€™s comfortable with a wide range of styles. Whether itā€™s a sharp skin fade or a classic, traditional gents haircut, Jay focuses on delivering a clean, quality finish every time. He believes a barbershop should be more than just a place for a haircut ā€” it should be somewhere clients can relax, have a chat, crack open a beer, and leave feeling refreshed. Outside the shop, Jay is a huge football fan, so if you're looking for a quality cut and a good conversation, Jayā€™s chair is the place to be.

Finn Winters - Barber

Finn Winters - Barber

Finn is officially a qualified barber!Ā

After joining us as our first-ever apprentice, Finn has now completed his Level 2 & 3 qualifications and taken the next step into the profession. We couldnā€™t be prouder of how far heā€™s come.Being fresh into the industry means Finn is hungry to learn, keen to keep up with the latest trends and determined to build a big, loyal client base. Heā€™s got plenty of enthusiasm, plenty of ambition and, most importantly, the attitude to keep improving with every cut. So, if youā€™re looking for a great haircut, a good laugh and the chance to get in early with a barber whoā€™s going places, Finn is your man. The more clients he gets through the chair, the more experience heā€™ll build, and thatā€™s exactly what heā€™s hungry for.

Away from the shop, Finn is a big football fan and, despite supporting Fulham FC, somehow has some pretty decent football chat! Heā€™s also mad about cars, so thereā€™s never any shortage of conversation.

As Finn continues to build his experience and client base, all of his services are currently Ā£2 less than our standard prices.

GiveĀ Finn a chance, get booked in and watch him grow.
