Tapered is more than just a new name above the door — it’s the result of years of dedication, growth, and a shared vision. Five years ago, Lewis took over the shop formerly known as Bow St Barbers. With hard work, long hours, and a real passion for the craft, he built it into a respected and trusted space within the community. In 2022, Jay joined the team, bringing fresh energy, skill, and ambition. Together, they worked side by side, sharpening their craft and steadily building something special. By 2026, it was clear that the next step wasn’t just growth — it was evolution. That’s when Tapered was born. Tapered represents a fresh start for Lewis and Jay — a new venture built on experience, loyalty, and a drive to keep pushing forward. While we’re proud of everything achieved in the Bow St Barbers years, this rebrand marks a new chapter. A stronger identity. A bigger vision. A brand with purpose. Our goal is simple: deliver top-quality cuts, create a welcoming atmosphere, and build Tapered into something that continues to grow — not just as a barbershop, but as a name people recognise and trust. Lewis Bristow Co-owner

Lewis is known locally as one of the most versatile barbers, skilled in all modern fades and classic gents’ cuts, and especially patient with kids. His passion for barbering started young — he was cutting family and friends’ hair from the age of 12 — and over the years he’s built extensive experience in the trade. Lewis takes pride in giving every client a clean, precise cut while creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere in the chair.Beyond barbering, Lewis is a proud family man, with his first child arriving in 2024 being a life-changing highlight. When he’s not in the shop, he loves surfing, golf, cars, BMX, and playing guitar. Book a session with Lewis and you’re guaranteed not just a great haircut, but a full barbering experience from start to finish.

About Jay. He started his barbering journey back in 2020 at strode college, since graduating college leaving with a level 2 & 3 qualification, he's been loving being a full time barber for the last 4 years. Finally achieving the dream of co-owning a brilliant, well known and friendly barbershop.

Jay is a well-rounded, modern barber who’s comfortable with a wide range of styles. Whether it’s a sharp skin fade or a classic, traditional gents haircut, Jay focuses on delivering a clean, quality finish every time. He believes a barbershop should be more than just a place for a haircut — it should be somewhere clients can relax, have a chat, crack open a beer, and leave feeling refreshed. Outside the shop, Jay is a huge football fan, so if you're looking for a quality cut and a good conversation, Jay’s chair is the place to be.

Tracey Lennox 

Tracey has been with the shop since it first opened, bringing over 15 years of barbering experience to every cut. She’s an expert in classic gents’ haircuts, delivering sharp, precise styles with speed and efficiency — you won’t be in the chair long, but you’ll always leave with a top-quality cut. Known for her traditional barbering experience, Tracey combines skill and attention to detail to give every client a timeless, well-executed haircut. She focuses on classic and traditional styles, so if you’re looking for a skin fade, Lewis or Jay are the best people to book for those cuts. Finn Winters - Junior Barber

Finn Winters - Junior Barber

Finn is our junior barber. Finn graduated college in 2026 completing his level 2 and 3 qualification. After being our first ever apprentice, his hard work has paid off and we are delighted to announce him as our junior barber.  

whilst Finn is mastering the trade, You can still expect a solid haircut and a great chat. outside the shop Finn is a huge football fan and loves a debate. 


Finns services are currently discounted but this offer won't be forever as he's progressing smoothly
